Sneem & District CFR

Community First Responders are trained volunteers who are dispatched by the National Ambulance Service to nearby cardiac, choking, stroke and breathing emergencies. They arrive in the critical first minutes with an AED and oxygen — bridging the gap until the ambulance reaches the village. You don’t call the responders directly — always ring 112. The ambulance control room pages the nearest on-call volunteer automatically.
About CFR Ireland

If you witness a collapse

1. Call 112 and stay on the line. 2. Start chest compressions — push hard and fast in the centre of the chest. 3. Send someone for the nearest AED. 4. Follow the AED voice prompts when it arrives.

In a cardiac emergency, ring 112 first — the call-taker will direct you to the nearest AED and give the access code. Send someone to fetch it while CPR is started.
